MAIN OBJETIVES

To generate knowledge about the basic biological and physical-chemical processes which are responsible for the different quality parameters of grapes and wine.
To develop environmentally-friendly farming procedures in order to contribute to the maintenance of the viticultural agricultural system.
To analyse wine and its production process on the basis of its contribution to health and food safety.
To develop new processes, products and innovation technologies when producing quality wines, being safe, with healthy properties apart from being competitive in the international market.
To empower the competitivity in the sector by means of the transference of technology and results of the investigations.
To support the university education in viticulture and oenology, especially as regards post-degree stages (PhD degrees).
To constitute a critical group of expert investigators and highly qualified technicians from different scientific fields.
