WHAT IS ICVV
The Instituto de Ciencias de la Vid y del Vino (Research Centre of Vine-and- Wine-related Science) (ICVV) is an institution which deals with Viticulture and Oenology, created by the Government of La Rioja (by means of the Regional Agricultural Ministry), the Advisory Board for Scientific Research and the University of La Rioja.
The ICVV was born with the aim of generating new knowledge and technologies, as regards Viticulture and Oenology, which can be useful for a technological development within the viticultural sector, inherent in our culture and our farming economy.
The ICVV will encourage the exchanging of scientific and technological results in society, for its research activity to be practical and to contribuye to the sector’s development. So as to achieve this target, the sector itself will manage a special bureau of scientific exchange.
The ICVV will also support the university education focused on viticulture and oenology, especially the post-degree stage.
Such institution will be integrated in the European research environment and claims to become a reference in terms of the vine and wine R+D.
