The Government of La Rioja, the University of La Rioja and the Higher Council for Scientific Research sign the new agreement of the Institute of Vine and Wine Sciences (ICVV)

On March 30, Concha Andreu, President of the Government of La Rioja, Juan Carlos Ayala, Rector of the University of La Rioja (UR) and Eloísa del Pino, President of the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), signed the new agreement of the Institute of Vine and Wine Sciences (ICVV). This agreement updates the ICVV original agreement signed on February 18, 2008 that was in force up to now.

After fifteen years of collaboration, the three institutions share the interest of continuing with this scientific initiative and updating its regulation, maintaining its nature and character as a joint institute of shared ownership between the Government of La Rioja, the UR and the CSIC, adapting it to the requirements of the new national and regional legal system, especially Law 40/2015, of October 1st, on the Legal Regime of the Public Sector.

The agreement regulates the activity of this joint institute, renewing the alliance between the three institutions to continue promoting this internationally recognized institute, whose mission is to carry out, research, training, transfer and dissemination activities in the field of viticulture and oenology, within a collaborative and interdisciplinary framework.

The signature was preceded by a meeting between the president of the Government of La Rioja and the president of the CSIC with the ICVV scientific staff in which the planned R+D+i actions within the framework of the Enorregion program were presented. Among them, the International Wine Campus stands out. This campus will create a common space for research and training of excellence, integrating the winemaking reference institutions of La Rioja: The University of La Rioja, the ICVV and the Haro Oenological Station.
