The ICVV organizes the “Open International Conference on Grapevine Physiology and Biotechnology 2024 (Open-GPB2024)” in Logroño

The Institute of Grapevine and Wine Sciences (ICVV) organizes the Open International Conference on Grapevine Physiology and Biotechnology (Open GPB2024), to be celebrated in Logroño (La Rioja, Spain) from the 7th to the 11th of July, 2024.

The meeting aims to be a place of discussion for researchers and professionals to review the latest advances in topics related to grapevine physiology and biotechnology, including ‘Plant vegetative and reproductive development’, ‘Fruit and wine yield and composition’, ‘Abiotic interactions’, ‘Biotic interactions’, ‘New biotechnological tools’, ‘Advances in omics and big data’, ‘Advances in precision viticulture and phenotyping’, and ‘Table grapes, raisins and postharvest physiology’. The scientific program will be accompanied by activities to visit the vineyards of the DOCa Rioja demarcated winemaking region, useful to discover the local long history of grape production and wine elaboration, as well as to explore its culture and gastronomy.

This meeting is conceived as an international meeting point to share the latest findings of Grapevine Physiology and Biotechnology under an Open Science approach, using digital and collaborative methodologies. To this aim, the Open-GPB2024 has established a partnership with the International Viticulture and Enology Society (IVES). The proceedings will be fully available with Open Access on the IVES Conference Series portal. Also, a selection of articles will be published in a special number of OENO One.

The provisional program is already available (click here). Registrations are open until the 31st of May, 2024 through the website of the meeting.  Please, submit your scientific communications by the 19th of January, 2024 following the instructions indicated here.
