El grupo In-Vid (IN-Vid, http: // www. icvv.es/invid) es un grupo de investigación oficial del CSIC (ref. 886222) que tiene como reto a largo plazo reducir la dependencia de los agroquímicos tradicionales en el control de plagas, con especial énfasis del viñedo, centrándose en dos retos específicos (i) desarrollar bio-herramientas de control de plagas, y (ii) entender cómo el manejo agronómico impacta en el agroecosistemas para identificar las actuaciones más sostenibles.

Por un lado, se buscan nuevas alternativas no químicas de manejo de plagas de la vid de bajo impacto medioambiental basadas en la aplicación de nematodos entomopatógenos o metabolitos secundarios producidos por sus bacterias simbiontes que permitan aportar nuevas herramientas de manejo de tres artrópodos clave en el viñedo: Lobesia botrana, Tetranychus urticae y Philaenus spumarius (vector de Xylella fastidiosa).

Por otro lado, promover una biodiversidad funcional elevada es clave para la sostenibilidad de la viticultura. Los nematodos del suelo son un grupo modelo excelente para su evaluación ya que forman complejas redes tróficas, lo que permite estimar índices de madurez y estado de degradación del agrosistema. No obstante, esta información es escasa y casi nula si se consideran en relación con el control de las plagas/patógenos, o en las mejoras del cultivo. En este contexto, In-Vid está aportando nuevos indicadores del impacto del manejo en la fauna beneficiosa del viñedo en varios estudios que investigan, por ejemplo, el impacto de la presencia de cubiertas vegetales, o el efecto del manejo de plagas (ecológico versus integrado).
