Desde una perspectiva de promover una Viticultura Sostenible, el grupo de investigación VitisGESTIÓN centra su atención en aspectos relacionados con los factores de la producción vitícola: medio y técnicas de cultivo.
En este contexto, las líneas de trabajo que desarrolla el grupo abordan aspectos como:
- - Manejo sostenible de los suelos y su relación con la calidad de la producción vitivinícola. Relación calidad-terroir. Zonificación. Cartografía de suelos.
- - Estrategias y prácticas vitícolas sostenibles de adaptación al cambio climático. Balance de emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero en suelos vitícolas.
- - Preservación del patrimonio genético de las variedades de vid de la DOCa. Rioja y selección clonal en base a la evaluación de su potencial vitícola y enológico.
- - Caracterización agronómica y enológica de variedades y clones, nuevas variedades y de variedades minoritarias.
- - Estrategias para una fertilización racional de la vid. Métodos de evaluación y diagnóstico del estado nutricional del viñedo. Aprovechamiento de subproductos del sector vitícola y agroalimentario.
- - Eficiencia en el uso del agua y su relación con la productividad y calidad de la vendimia. Estrategias de riego.
- - Mantenimiento y manejo del suelo. Utilización de cubiertas vegetales y de diferentes opciones de acolchado.
- - Conducción de la vid. Actuaciones para el control del vigor y rendimiento, y la mejora del microclima de la planta.
